East 15 Acting School’s MA/MFA Acting (International) Course has opened up their annual evening of original works written and performed as a series of one-man-shows. This unique production represents the culmination several months of research, writing workshops, rehearsal and reworking by the 30 member class.

Micah’s addition to the evening was a modern day incarnation of RIP VAN WINKLE focusing on contemporary social issues and challenges facing our world today. He hopes to eventually develop the 10 minute long play into a full length piece, incorporating all of the feedback he has been receiving from his tutors and a very supportive audience.

After being cast in HAMLET, the Globe was able to grant Micah the budget and support he needed to research, design, build and engineer a 12 foot tall puppet to fill the role of the Ghost of Hamlet’s Father.

Given Micah’s abiding love for both Shakespeare and the art of puppetry, this was a rare opportunity to marry his two passions together.

LAST DAYS OF JUDAS… opens to praise
Thursday, August 19, 2010
Audiences were engaged and responsive to the opening week of the Royal Pretenders production of The Last Days of Judas Iscariot, a courtroom tragicomedy in which Micah plays the laughable and at times, vulnerable prosecuting attorney YUSEF AKBAR AZIZ AL-NASSAR GAMEL EL- FAYOUMY

Cast in Last Days of Judas Iscariot

Micah recently accepted the role of EL FAYOUMY the womanizing comic prosecutor in Stephen Adly Gurgis’ provocative, metaphysical courtroom tragicomedy THE LAST DAYS OF JUDAS ISCARIOT, to be produced by the Royal Pretenders at the Sam Bass Theatre in Round Rock (North Austin) TX at the end of next month.
Micah was originally cast in the role of Jesus but director Rob Morris of North Carolina’s School of the Arts quickly moved him into the comic relief. Rehearsals are well underway and the cast is looking forward to the process of discovering the issues addressed in the text.
